A house fire in the 1500 block of Stevens Road. Captain 8-B Rich Shelly reported heavy smoke showing while enroute and it was upgraded to a working fire. Once on scene, Captain Shelly found a neighbor was trying to extinguish the fire in the rear of the house with a garden hose with no success. Engine 14-B’s crew was sent to the second floor to search for victims but was given a handline to be taken to the second floor. With fire in the attic and no attic ladder, Firefighter Bowman was boosted onto Captain Hicks’ back by another firefighter and made entry into the attic. After setting up the attic ladder, Captain Hicks was through the attic scuttle and assisted Firefighter Bowman with advancing the hoseline to knocked down the fire.
