This is a Post Incident Analysis (PIA) from a house fire that occurred on January 28, 1998. VBFD responded to an odor of smoke in a residential structure that was located in the Thoroughgood section of the city. As crews investigated the odor, the conditions worsen rather quickly. As fire broke out, it was being fueled by 40 plus miles per hour winds out of the North. What happened next tested out accountability system and our organization on the fire ground.
