On April 6, 1998, Companies 11, 14, Ladder 11 and Battalion 1 moved into their new 16,000 square foot station on 17th Street. It is part of a new complex that will have a new police precinct and Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad 14. The old fire, police and rescue facilities will be torn down for future development.
